
In Ayushman Bharat scheme, the Community Health Officers (CHOs) have been instituted as a new type of trained non-physician healthcare practitioners. They will play a central role in providing an increased array of integral health services in the Comprehensive Primary Health Care scheme.
CHOs will lead the healthcare team at Sub Centre–Health and Wellness Centres, where they will offer clinical care and outpatient services to the local population. Additionally, they will act as a crucial link within the health system to support effective coordination and ensure continuous care for patients. [1]
The State Health Society of Bihar (SHS) has made available 4,500 posts for Community Health Officers (CHO) under the National Health Mission (NHM). This hiring is expected to make primary healthcare services stronger in the state.

Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for these jobs, the applicants should meet the following requirements:
Hold a BSc in Nursing and a Certificate in Community Health (CCH).
You must be registered with the Indian Nursing Council (INC) or a state nursing board.
Age Requirement:
The lower age limit to apply is 21 years as of April 1, 2025. The upper age limit is different according to category:
General/EWS (Male): 42 years
General/EWS (Female), BC, MBC: 45 years
SC/ST: 47 years
Relaxation in age according to government rules is allowed.

Selection Process:
The selection process initial stage is a Computer Based Test (CBT), and then document verification.
