In a tragic incident on Wednesday in Ghaziabad, a man who was suffering from cancer allegedly shot his wife dead and then himself. The victim has been identified as Kuldeep Tyagi, who hailed from Meerut and was a real estate professional. Officials confirmed that a suicide note was found at the spot, which explained the motives of the man.

The suicide note speaks of a secret battle.

Tyagi had concealed his cancer diagnosis from his family, according to police. In the half-page suicide note discovered at the scene, he said that he did not wish to impose on his loved ones the emotional and financial strain of his cancer treatment. The note implies that his family, including his wife, was not aware of his condition.

Kuldeep reportedly wrote that the expense of cancer treatment had caused him a great deal of stress. He did not want to become a financial and emotional burden on his family, and this stress drove him to this fatal decision.

A Promise Taken to the Grave

The suicide note also had a very disturbing reason for why he had killed his wife prior to him. Kuldeep stated that he and his wife, Nishhu Tyagi, had vowed to be together forever. Kuldeep explained that he and his wife, Nishhu Tyagi, had promised each other to be together forever. As per the investigating officers, he thought it was a way of keeping up that commitment when he had killed her earlier.

Presence of family at the time of the incident

What makes the incident more painful is that Kuldeep's old father and two small children were in the house when the shooting occurred. Fortunately, they were not hurt, but the experts say the psychological trauma of such a heinous act will certainly have long-term impacts.

Police investigation underway

Poonam Mishra, ACP, Nandgram Sector, informed that preliminary investigations suggest a case of murder-suicide. Legal procedures are underway, and the corpses have been referred for post-mortem.

Authorities have not completely excluded further probes to gain complete insight into the events that precipitated this horrific loss of lives. The incident draws attention to mental health assistance and the free exchange of information at the time of a medical emergency.

A wake-up call on the silent burden of illness

The tragedy serves as a harsh reminder of the silent struggles that vulnerable individuals face when battling chronic or terminal illnesses. Experts emphasize the urgent need for mental health interventions, particularly when patients feel isolated or paralyzed by fear of becoming a burden to their loved ones.
