
A 35-year-old immigrant worker from Kuwait, Anjaneya Prasad, flew back to India and murdered his relative, P Anjaneyulu, for allegedly sexually abusing his minor daughter. The incident occurred in Obulavaripalli, Annamayya district, on the night of December 6-7.
Sub-divisional Police Officer stated that Prasad had fled to Kuwait and released a video confession, taking responsibility for the crime. Additionally, alleged that the police had failed to take action on the complaint filed by Prasad's daughter.
Anjaneya Prasad came to India in the first week of December and killed Anjaneyulu in the intervening night of December 6 and 7 when the latter was sleeping outside his home.

According to the police, Prasad arrived in India in the first week of December and committed the crime after his daughter's complaint against Anjaneyulu was allegedly ignored by the police. After the murder, Prasad returned to Kuwait and released a video message confessing to the crime.
The police have registered a murder case against Prasad and are currently searching for his arrest. The incident has been confirmed by Rajampet sub-divisional police officer N Sudhakar.
The police investigation revealed that Prasad's daughter had complained to the police about the alleged abuse by Anjaneyulu, but no action was taken. Prasad then decided to take matters into his own hands and committed the crime. The police have stated that they are investigating the case and will take necessary action.
According to the police, Prasad had been working in Kuwait for several years and had returned to India specifically to address the issue of his daughter's alleged abuse. The police are currently verifying the details of the case and are searching for Prasad's arrest.
According to the National Crime Records Bureau's (NCRB) 2022 data, India witnessed a significant rise in crimes against minors, with 1,62,449 reported cases - a notable 8.7% increase from the 1,49,404 cases recorded in 2021. Notably, kidnapping and abduction accounted for nearly half (45.7%) of the total reported cases.
