Female Doctor Ends Her Life in Ahmedabad Crime Branch Campus

A woman doctor was found dead on a bench in the Ahmedabad crime branch premises. This incident happened after a meeting with an officer from the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the city crime branch.

The doctor is identified as 32-year-old Vaishali Joshi, a BAMS doctor. She is a resident of Dabhedi near Virpur in Mahisagar district. Vaishali’s body was found on the crime branch campus in the Gaekwad Haveli complex. A passerby found her body between 4 pm and 4:30 pm and informed Gaikwad Haveli police and an ambulance reached the spot. Her body was handed over to her family post-mortem.

The police started an investigation into the issue. A 15-page suicide note was found and it disclosed her relationship with EOW police inspector BK Khachar which passed over four years. The police are investigating the nature of their relationship and the circumstances that led her to take such extreme action.

Vaishali was survived by her widowed mother and two sisters, one settled in Canada, and one in Vadodara. She is staying in a PG in the satellite area after her father’s death. She recently opened her clinic in the city. Her family is in anguish after her death.

The police said that she probably injected poison herself to end her life; they also said that she reportedly tried to contact Khachar for two weeks and as per the sources of the crime branch she may have been involved in a relationship with PI Khachar and she had given a request, intimidating to end her own life if he did not meet her. Khachar is unreachable and his superior officer is also not reachable.

R H Bhati said the case is under investigation and they cannot speculate on anyone’s involvement at this stage. A locked mobile phone was retrieved from the spot and according to the sources, a faint stab imprint near her ankle was noticed.

Doctor Couple in Madhya Pradesh Die by Suicide Due to Financial Distress

The suicide note is presently under the custody of Gaikwad Haveli police, they are going through the contents of the note to understand Dr.  Joshi’s relationship with PI Khachar and the stress she encountered.

Inspector Bhati said that on the grounds of instigating suicide, the police will file a complaint against Khachar on Thursday.
