RED Health, a leading emergency medical response provider in India, launched FLASH, a health commerce app, to deliver medical services directly to patients’ homes. Operating in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, FLASH extends RED Health’s expertise in emergency medical transportation to provide over 20 at-home healthcare services, including injections, IV fluids, vaccinations, wound care, post-surgical support, and diagnostic tests. The initiative addresses the growing demand for accessible healthcare by reducing hospital visits and improving care continuity.
Prabhdeep Singh, CEO of RED Health, stated that FLASH emerged from recognizing patients’ needs for care beyond emergency ambulance services. The app integrates real-time tracking, AI-driven analytics, and intelligent routing to ensure ambulances reach patients within eight minutes. RED Health strategically positions its 5G-enabled ambulances near high-demand areas and major hospitals, analyzing traffic patterns to optimize response times. These ambulances, equipped with medical technology, allow ER doctors to monitor patients remotely during transit, streamlining hospital admissions.
FLASH collaborates with hospitals and diagnostic centers to enhance service delivery. RED Health stations teams on hospital premises to relay patient vitals in real time, enabling faster triage and treatment. Nurses work alongside hospital staff to support patient admissions, reducing delays. The app also provides accurate ETAs and direct hospital communication, ensuring efficient care coordination.
In addition to ambulance support and home-based services, RED Health launched a rapid response bike service under FLASH to cut delays in emergency situations. Trained paramedics equipped with medical tools including oxygen cylinders, defibrillators, ECG monitors, pulse oximeters, and glucometers respond to calls within 15 minutes.
This new service currently operates in Hyderabad and aims to address pre-hospital time gaps in dense urban areas where ambulances often face delays due to traffic congestion. During the pilot phase, these paramedic teams responded to over 300 cases involving trauma, unconsciousness, chest pain, and breathlessness.
Currently, FLASH operates in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, with plans to expand to cities like Mumbai and Delhi based on digital adoption rates, hospital density, and demand for rapid-response healthcare. RED Health collects user feedback through an automated system to refine services and train staff, ensuring consistent quality. A 24/7 call center supports users uncomfortable with the app, while field teams facilitate direct bookings, making services inclusive.
FLASH contributes to India’s healthcare transformation by leveraging technology to bridge access gaps. With India’s doctor-population ratio at 1:834 and 70% of its population in rural areas, initiatives like FLASH align with digital health efforts like the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. By offering on-demand care, FLASH reduces hospital congestion, supports post-hospital recovery, and enhances healthcare accessibility, particularly in urban centers. RED Health’s vision integrates emergency response, diagnostics, and chronic care, reshaping India’s healthcare delivery model.
