Hong Kong Customs Issues Warning Over Inflatable Toy Syringe Choking Hazard

Hong Kong Customs has issued a warning to parents about an inflatable toy syringe that poses a potential choking hazard to children. The toy syringe, which is designed for children aged 3-6 years, was found to have small parts that can detach and be swallowed.

According to the Hong Kong Customs announcement, the toy syringe was imported from mainland China and was available for sale on various online platforms and retail stores in Hong Kong.

The toy syringe is made of soft, inflatable material and has a detachable needle and other small parts. Hong Kong Customs has warned that these small parts can be easily detached and pose a choking hazard to children. The customs department has advised parents to stop using the toy syringe immediately and to return it to the supplier for a refund.

The Department Spokesman said, "Customs will continue to closely monitor the market situation and step up patrols. If the item is found, the department will take resolute enforcement action."

In addition to the warning, Hong Kong Customs has also reminded traders and suppliers of their responsibility to ensure that the toys they import and sell comply with the safety standards and regulations in Hong Kong. The customs department has vowed to take enforcement action against any traders or suppliers who fail to comply with the regulations.
