Hair transplant turns into a fatal tragedy for Kanpur man Vineet Kumar Dubey, a 37-year-old assistant engineer from Kanpur, passed away after undergoing hair transplant surgery at a private clinic. The episode has left authorities seriously concerned about the medical safety and responsibility. Police have started an investigation into the case after his wife registered a complaint charging negligence.

Routine Hair Transplant Ends in Loss

Vineet Dubey, an employee of Panki Power Plant who lived in Officers Colony with his wife and two children, underwent a hair transplant operation at a clinic in Kalyanpur on March 13th. His wife, Jaya Tripath, was with their children in Gonda to attend to her kin.

One of these days, Jaya received a stunned call from an unknown number. The caller told her that Vineet's face had become badly swollen and that he was being transferred to the hospital. The call was disconnected, preventing her from reaching the caller or the doctor later.

Final Hours and Hospital Transfer

Panicked, Jaya asked her uncle in Kanpur to find out about Vineet. She came to know that Vineet's health had deteriorated and that he had been shifted to the Regency Hospital. Sadly, even though he had received medical attention, Vineet died on 15 March, two days after the surgery.

Complaints of negligence surface

Seriously disturbed, Jaya Tripathi lodged a complaint against Rawatpur police, who registered an FIR under Section 106(1) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for death due to suspected medical negligence. The suspect doctor with an MBBS degree has been summoned for questioning.

The case is under investigation.

Kalyanpur ACP Abhishek Kumar Pandey verified that statements of people who had sent Vineet to the clinic are being removed. "Our investigation will determine the next course of action," he said. Nobody has been arrested so far.

Police are probing the conditions of the surgery and whether there was any delay or error in administering critical care. Authorities are also verifying the practices of the clinic and the doctors involved.
