What started as a light-hearted question for ChatGPT became a pivotal moment that changed and saved two lives recently. Natallia Tarrien, a content creator, shared her surprising experience on Instagram, detailing how a random question led to an emergency hospital visit and the early birth of her baby.
Tarrien, who was eight months pregnant at the time, said she had been experiencing mild jaw tightness. With no serious signs of concern, she asked ChatGPT about it, purely out of curiosity.
“I asked ChatGPT a question just for fun: ‘Why does my jaw feel tight?’ It didn’t feel serious. But ChatGPT told me: ‘Check your blood pressure.’ So I did. It was high - really high. I thought it would go down, but it only kept climbing,” Tarrien, who was eight months pregnant at that time, said in her post.
A warning that couldn’t be ignored
After the AI suggested it, Tarrien checked her blood pressure, and the numbers shocked her. It was dangerously high and only getting higher. Within moments, ChatGPT was prompting her to call for medical help.
“When we got to the hospital, my blood pressure was 200/146,” she wrote. “I was 8 months pregnant. The doctors took one look at me and said: We need to deliver your baby immediately."
Due to the quick response, her baby was born safely. Natallia Tarrien’s own life was also saved, but only just. Later, a doctor told her something chilling: “If you had slept that night, you wouldn’t have woken up.”
Thanks to the digital lifeline
The seriousness of her condition only became clear in the days that followed. Tarrien’s blood pressure remained dangerously high after delivery, and she temporarily lost her vision. She continues to get emotional thinking about how it all started with a seemingly harmless question.
“For five days after delivery, my blood pressure kept rising. I even lost my vision for a moment. I still get chills thinking about it. All of this started from one small symptom - and one random question. Thank you, ChatGPT. You saved two lives.”

Not the only case, but caution is key.
Tarrien’s story isn’t the only one making waves. A Reddit user recently shared how ChatGPT helped solve a persistent jaw problem that had gone undiagnosed for more than five years, all in minutes.
While these stories are noteworthy, health experts and consumers alike are urging caution. As impressive as AI tools like ChatGPT can be, they should never replace professional medical diagnosis.
