As per a report by the New York Post, the Australian-born media tycoon Rupert Murdoch is set to get married for the fifth time at the age of 92.

He will be marrying Ann Lesley Smith, a former police chaplain from San Francisco.

In the same report, Mr. Murdoch said that he was nervous and dreaded falling in love as he knew this would be his last.

On March 17, 2023, Ann Lesley Smith got engaged to Rupert Murdoch, the Australian-American billionaire, in New York City. The couple had previously met at Murdoch's Moraga Estate winery in Bel Air, California. This engagement came seven months after Murdoch's divorce from Jerry Hall. The couple is planning to tie the knot in the summer of 2023.

Ann Leslie Smith was born in 1941 in San Francisco and grew up in a family of law enforcement officers. She worked as a police officer and was later ordained as a deacon in the Episcopal Church, serving as a chaplain for the San Francisco Police Department.

Smith has been married twice before and has two children from her first marriage. She is known for her work in philanthropy, particularly in supporting the education of underprivileged children.

According to the New York Post report, Ms. Smith said that she has been a widow for 14 years and felt that Rupert was similar to her late husband who was also a businessman and worked for local newspapers, and developed TV and radio stations. She also said that she and Rupert spoke the same language and shared the same beliefs.

As for Rupert Murdoch, he has been married four times in the past. His first marriage was to Patricia Booker in 1956, and they had one child together before divorcing in 1967. He then married Anna Torv, a journalist working for his Sydney newspaper, and they had three children before divorcing in 1999.

Murdoch's third marriage was to Wendi Deng, with whom he had two daughters before filing for divorce in 2013. In 2016, at the age of 85, Murdoch announced his engagement to former model Jerry Hall and they were married in London, making it his fourth marriage.

However, in June 2022, it was reported that Murdoch and Hall were set to divorce, and Hall filed for divorce in July of that year.

The Chairman and CEO of News Corp., reportedly has an estimated net worth of $17 billion, as stated by Forbes. His vast media empire includes Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, and numerous other media assets situated in different parts of the world.

Rupert Murdoch's marriage to Ann Lesley Smith at the age of 92 is a testament to the power of love and companionship even in the later stages of life.

Despite having gone through four divorces, Murdoch did not give up on love and found it once again with Smith. Their engagement, and upcoming marriage, demonstrates that age is just a number and that one is never too old to find happiness with another person.

It shows us how love is not only important in youth but also throughout a lifetime.

As people grow older, their priorities and desires may change, but the desire for companionship remains ever-present.

We should keep our hearts open, take chances, and appreciate the love we may find in unexpected ways.
