“Just sleep on it”- A phrase we all hear after a hard day’s work. But what if your job was just to seek bedtime? Casper (No not the beloved friendly poltergeist a.k.a "cute ghost"), a New York-based e-Commerce company, is looking for people who can sleep on the job. Their dream candidate is someone who has a desire to sleep as much as possible and has the ability to nap through anything.
At Casper Sleep, the applicant is required to sleep in their stores and also in unexpected settings out in the world, according to the company. "On the rare occasion, you're not sleeping, share your experience with others by creating TikTok-style content to be posted across Casper's social media channels," the company said.
Sleep is a vital component of our lives that is largely underestimated, and hence, overlooked. Because of the way we live in the modern world, this is quickly becoming a serious public health risk. However, excessive sleeping has been connected to a number of health issues, such as diabetes, heart disease, and a higher risk of dying. Nevertheless, it is important to emphasise that two additional characteristics, sadness and low socioeconomic position, are also substantially linked to excessive sleep.
Every hired candidate can celebrate wearing pajamas to work everyday and have a daily access to free Casper products with a flexible work schedule.
The only criteria for candidates is that they must be 18 years or older, must have the willingness to capture content and be featured in social content, and start each day with a positive thought like, “I can't wait to go back to bed for 16 short hours". Looking on the Bright Side, Any job is a dream job if you fall asleep in meetings and in that case, here at Casper you might have just increased your pay bonus.
All employees of Casper would rest their eyes as August 10th is observed as International Lazy day.
