Dr. David Pincus, a Long Island, New York-based plastic surgeon, is reportedly facing several legal complaints against him, accusing the surgeon of doing unauthorised medical procedures, professional negligence, and even sexual misconducts. These allegations arose from legal complaints and media reports, which all portray a grave image of the surgeon's practice and interaction with patients.
Unauthorised Medical Procedures
A patient told the media that she had consulted Dr. Pincus in 2021 about a tummy tuck, but Pincus performed on her a mons-lift operation of which she was entirely unaware. After surgery Pincus allegedly said, "Your vagina was positioned too low, so I had to adjust it." Patient is now estimating to spend nearly $40,000 to get her body restored as per what she wanted it to be after surgery.[3]
Allegations of Sexual Misconduct
A former employee, Jaclyn Riker, accused Dr. Pincus of repeated sexual harassment, including touching her, lifting her skirt to expose her underwear, and forcing her to sit on his lap while he called her "Daddy".[4] She also accused him of telling her after having breast augmentation surgery that he had performed, "I have the right to touch you whenever I want. I made you, so you belong to me."
Another woman claimed Pincus made sexually suggestive comments during their consultation, saying to her, "I should just take you home with me, and we wake up together every morning."
More Accusations
Court documents show that in 2020, Dr. Pincus was sued for making inappropriate comments about a 15-year-old girl who was interning at his clinic. The teenager was reportedly the daughter of an employee.
Another case involved a 2022 breast reduction patient who accused Pincus of missing obvious infection symptoms that progressed into severe complications, such as necrosis. She had to go through several emergency surgeries, which included draining infected abscesses with fluid and grafting her skin using tissue from her thigh.
He claims all allegations as a demand for money from him. "I will not be blackmailed," he concluded, insisting that he had cured over 7,000 patients and had "thousands and thousands of positive reviews." His lawyer described the lawsuits as having no merit and that Dr. Pincus would fight the allegations aggressively without settling or compromising.
Such allegations have left a black mark across Dr. Pincus's name. His lavish lifestyle, including a nearly $3 million mansion in Long Island and a $300,000 luxury sports car, has certainly added fuel to the fire.
With this legal process still underway, much attention has been drawn from the medical community and the public.
