Atlanta, Georgia - A man who promoted himself as “Atlanta’s top veneer specialist” and operated a cosmetic dental business on social media was arrested and indicted for practicing dentistry without a license, according to multiple media reports. Brandon Dillard, owner of A List Smiles Atlanta, used his Instagram presence and a Northeast Atlanta office to offer veneer procedures and related services, despite having no dental license or formal dental credentials.
Brandon Dillard built a large following on social media, particularly on Instagram, where he marketed his business A List Smiles Atlanta to more than 150,000 followers and advertised a range of cosmetic dental procedures, particularly dental veneers - thin, custom coverings placed over teeth to improve aesthetics.
His online posts included images and video clips of veneer installations, special offers such as raffle contests for veneer procedures priced around $5,500, and claims of “training” that he offered for others interested in becoming veneer specialists or “technicians.”
According to court records and statements from prosecutors, Dillard conducted his business from 2021 until his arrest in October 2024, despite never having obtained a training or dental license from the state of Georgia.
On November 21, 2025, a Fulton County, Georgia grand jury returned an indictment against Dillard listing 113 criminal counts related to his actions. The charges include:
violation of the Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act
theft by deception
practicing dentistry without a license
practicing medicine without a license
battery
possession of dangerous drugs
conspiracy to commit insurance fraud
These alleged offenses pertain to a range of activities that prosecutors say occurred while Dillard marketed and performed veneer placements over multiple years.
Prosecutors have asserted that Dillard operated as a dental provider and trainer without any legal authority to do so. Fulton County Deputy District Attorney Will Wooten stated that Dillard had never been a licensed dentist.
According to court filings, the Georgia State Dental Board issued a cease-and-desist letter early in 2024, warning Dillard to stop performing dental procedures. Prosecutors allege that he continued despite the warning, which contributed to the escalation of charges.
American Dental Association emphasize that cosmetic dental procedures such as veneers involve altering the structure of the tooth, typically requiring removal of some enamel and bonding of the veneer and must be performed under proper clinical conditions by credentialed professionals. Improper veneer work can lead to dental damage, pain, infections, and other adverse effects.
As of early 2026, Dillard was denied bond at a hearing following his arrest and remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
Fulton County authorities have also encouraged past patients and trainees who may have received services or training from Dillard to contact the District Attorney’s Office, as ongoing investigations aim to identify all individuals potentially affected by the unlicensed practices.
