Some Random Points about SIMS:

1. Services Institute of Medical Sciences was founded in the year 2003 as a private medical college. After a decade, the Government of Punjab bought it and it was nationalized. From then onwards, it has been a public medical college.

2. In order to promote an environment of research at SIMS, Dr. Farooq Afzal the college's principal initiated SIMCON. The first SIMCON was held in 2022, and it yielded promising results.

3. The hospital affiliated with SIMS is of great importance to government employees. At Services Hospital, special treatment is given to civil employees. The same services are also available to the public.

4. Since SIMS became a national college, it has remained among the top three medical colleges in Punjab.

5. At SIMS, the faculty is considered to be among the most competent in the province. The faculty is adjusted accordingly, maintaining the academic decorum of the medical college due to its high merit.

6. A prominent feature of SIMS is its lavish building. In comparison with other medical colleges in the province, SIMS has the most modern building with central heating and cooling system. It has added grandeur to already stunning infrastructure. 

7. It was not until 2022 that SIMS published its annual magazine, SIMSONIAN. Since the new administration came, they allocated funds to publish it. Eight years after the last edition, this step was taken. Besides covering all aspects of life Simsonian's life, each and every student have the opportunity to write a biography and express their literary views.

8. Annual sports month takes place every year in the spring. Preparations and teams are decided as soon as the new admissions take place. Activities include all games like Cricket, football, baseball, volleyball, tennis, squash, chess, ludo, swimming, and much more. Inter and Intra college matches take place to decide the best team.

9. A number of societies are active in the college, ensuring that medical students also participate in extra-curricular activities. Some of the famous ones include SIMS Debating and Literary Society, SIMS ki FILMS, Student patient welfare society, SIMS Qirtaas (Dramatic Society), etc.

An annual lantern night is held to raise funds for Services Hospital, Lahore. The collected funds are donated to the hospital's needy patients.
