NEET UG 2026 Revised Syllabus Released: NTA Issues Key Advisories for Aspirants

NTA confirms NMC-finalized NEET UG 2026 syllabus and issues key document advisories for applicants

New Delhi, January 10, 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the finalized syllabus for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026. The announcement was made through a public notice dated January 8, 2026, in coordination with the National Medical Commission (NMC). This can bring clarity to lakhs of medical aspirants preparing for the upcoming NEET UG 2026 exam.

NEET UG examination serves as a single national-level examination for admission to undergraduate medical education across all medical institutions in India.

Syllabus of NEET UG 2026 as per NTA


According to the notice issued by NTA, the syllabus for NEET (UG) 2026 has been finalized by the Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB), National Medical Commission. The detailed syllabus has been published by NMC under Public Notice No. U-14023/19/NEET (UG Exam)/UGMEB dated December 22, 2025, and is available on the official NMC website. The syllabus has been attached as Annexure-I and candidates are advised to refer to the revised syllabus for their preparation.

NTA clarified that the NEET UG 2026 examination will be conducted based on the syllabus finalized and notified by NMC. 

When will NEET UG 2026 be held?

While the official examination date is yet to be announced, NEET UG 2026 is likely to be held in May. This follows the pattern of previous three years: In 2025, the examination was conducted on May 4, while in 2024 and 2023 it was held on May 5 and May 7 respectively.

Important Advisory on Aadhaar, UDID, and Category Certificates by NTA for NEET UG 2026

Earlier, through another public notice dated January 5, 2026, NTA issued a crucial advisory urging candidates to update their identity and eligibility documents before filling out the NEET UG 2026 application form.

Candidates have been advised to ensure that their Aadhaar Card is accurate, valid, and updated in all respects. The Aadhaar details must correctly reflect the candidate’s name, date of birth, gender, photograph, address, and biometric information (wherever applicable). Corrections or updates can be made by following UIDAI guidelines via uidai.gov.in or myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.

For candidates with disabilities, NTA has stressed that the UDID Card must be valid, updated, and renewed as required. Similarly, candidates belonging to EWS, SC, ST, or OBC-NCL categories must ensure that their category certificates are updated and valid to avoid discrepancies or rejection during the application or counselling stages.

When will NEET UG registration begin?

NTA is expected to commence NEET UG 2026 registration shortly. Aspirants are advised to regularly check the official NTA and NEET websites for updates regarding the application process, examination schedule, and information bulletin.
