NEET UG 2025 Counselling Begins: MCC Opens Round 1 Registration

In a recent announcement, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened the registration window for Round 1 of NEET UG 2025 counselling.

The counselling process is held for admissions to MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing courses in medical and dental colleges across India. As per the official notice, the complete Round 1 schedule has been released. A total of four rounds are scheduled for NEET UG counselling.

Approximately 12.36 lakh candidates have qualified NEET UG 2025. The MCC conducts counselling each year for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, along with 100% seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, AMU, JMI, BHU, DU, IP University, VMMC, ABVIMS, and ESIC. The remaining 85% state quota seats are filled by respective state counselling authorities.

Important Dates for Round 1

Here are the key dates to remember for Round 1 of the counselling process:

  • Registration: July 21 – July 28, 2025

  • Choice Filling & Locking: July 22 – July 28, 2025 (till 4 PM on July 28)

  • Seat Allotment: July 29 – July 30, 2025

  • Result Announcement: July 31, 2025

  • Reporting/Joining College: August 1 – August 6, 2025

The entire counselling process will be conducted online, except for the final reporting and joining, which will take place physically at the allotted colleges.

Documents Required for NEET UG 2025 Counselling

Before registering, candidates should keep the following documents ready:

1. NEET UG 2025 Admit Card

2. NEET UG Scorecard

3. Class 10 Marksheet

4. Class 12 Marksheet

5. Category Certificate (if applicable)

6. PwD Certificate (if applicable)

7. Passport-size Photograph

8. Valid ID Proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, etc.)

Counselling Fee and Refundable Security Deposit

The counselling fee varies depending on the type of institute and category:

For 15% AIQ and Central Universities:

  • General/EWS: ₹1,000 (non-refundable) + ₹10,000 (refundable)

  • SC/ST/OBC/PwD: ₹500 (non-refundable) + ₹5,000 (refundable)

For Deemed Universities:

  • All Categories: ₹5,000 (non-refundable) + ₹2,00,000 (refundable)

Step-by-Step: How to Register

To register successfully, follow these steps on the MCC portal:

1. Visit the official website: mcc.nic.in

2. Click on ‘New Registration 2025’

3. Enter NEET UG Roll Number, parent’s name, date of birth, and security code

4. Set your password (credentials will be sent to your registered email)

5. Fill out the complete form with personal and academic details

6. Upload scanned photograph and signature

7. Pay the registration fee and security deposit

8. Save the confirmation page and take a printout

9. Complete the choice filling and locking process before the deadline

Final Reminder

Candidates are strongly advised to carefully read the guidelines on the official MCC portal before registering. All steps, including choice locking, must be completed by 4 PM on July 28, 2025.
