Radiologist Accused of Sexually Assaulting Patient at Bengaluru Scan Centre

Bengaluru, 14 November 2025, A 34 year old woman from Anekal in Bengaluru Rural has accused a radiologist of sexually assaulting her during a medical scan at the Plasma Medinostics diagnostic centre on Vidhatha School Road. The complaint has triggered an active police investigation and a search for the accused radiologist, identified as Dr Jayakumar.

The Incident and Timeline

The woman, a mother of three, had been suffering from stomach pain and was referred for a diagnostic scan by doctors at a government hospital. She visited the scanning centre around 3 pm on Monday. During the procedure, she alleges that Dr. Jayakumar touched her private parts and behaved inappropriately while pretending to carry out the medical examination.

According to her statement, when she questioned his actions, the radiologist warned her not to speak about the incident. The threat left her shaken but determined to seek proof of what she believed was misconduct.

The next day she returned to the diagnostic centre. This time she kept her mobile phone recording throughout the appointment. She later told police that the radiologist repeated the same inappropriate actions while she was secretly filming. Her husband viewed the footage and confronted the radiologist about the behaviour.

The family alleges that instead of responding to the accusation, Dr Jayakumar called local men to intimidate them. The couple said they felt threatened and immediately went to the police to file a formal complaint.

Police Action and Search for the Accused

The Bengaluru Rural police registered a First Information Report with sections related to sexual harassment, criminal intimidation and intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace. District police officials stated that two special teams have been formed to locate and arrest Dr. Jayakumar, who has reportedly been absconding since the complaint was filed.

While the woman’s family claimed a protest was held outside the police station demanding swift action, police officials said no official protest was recorded. They maintained that the investigation is moving quickly and that efforts to trace the accused are ongoing.

How is the Complainant Dealing

However this case isn't the first of its kind, a few ago a 21‑year‑old woman in Bengaluru has accused a 56‑year‑old dermatologist of repeatedly kissing her, forcing her to undress and making hotel‑room suggestions under the guise of a skin‑examination. The doctor has been detained, a case is registered, and investigations are underway.
