Bhopal Hospital Under EOW Scanner Over Alleged Ayushman Bharat Irregularities

EOW books Srishti Hospital operator over alleged Ayushman Bharat irregularities, fake staff records and forged pathology reports

Madhya Pradesh: A case has been registered by the Economic Offences Wing against Rajkumar Suryavanshi, who is the operator of Srishti Hospital in Bhopal.

​According to the reports, it was alleged that Rajkumar was involved in a case related to irregularities with the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

​He was accused of submitting a fake list of doctors and other medical staff and allegedly used false signatures on pathology reports.

​The case was filed under sections 318(4), 336(3), 340(2) and 61(2) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita by the EOW.

​Joining the Ayushman Bharat network in 2023 required Srishti Hospital to verify its clinical workforce by presenting valid staff registration credentials and proof of active employment.

Srishti Hospital Ayushman Bharat Case: What the EOW Found

According to the reports it was revealed that out of the 45 staff members that were listed on the Ayushman Bharat Scheme list, only 15 of the names appeared to be unique.

​Investigators found out that the names of many medical staff members were repeated over and over again, with one of the names that appeared four times. And it was also revealed that Suryavanshi’s phone number was associated with all the 45 names on the list.

​According to the reports, it was a woman pathologist whose name appeared four times on the list. The woman informed the officials that she had never worked in the said facility and did not even consent to use her name in the list.

​The investigators also found out that the information on the pathology reports, including name, registration number and seal,  were of an MD Pathologist. The Pathologist confirmed that the signatures on the reports did not belong to him.

Ayushman Bharat Fraud Allegations Over Fake Hospital Staff Records ​

The EOW also noticed that Srishti Hospital was never granted permission to operate a pathology lab by the district health department.

​Allegedly, multiple health records were found with false signatures of various pathologists, and the reports were linked to patients who were being treated under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

​According to the reports, Suryavanshi admitted in writing that patients were admitted in the hospital under the scheme.

According to the records which were found in the hospital, around 709 beneficiaries were treated in 2025.

According to the records which were found in the hospital, around 709 beneficiaries were treated in 2025.

​Despite multiple formal demands, the administration neglected to produce vital documentation such as doctors' hiring contracts, attendance and salary details, laboratory approvals, and patient medical charts.

​The EOW has registered a case against Srishti Hospital and an investigation has been launched to find out the total payment received under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme and the involvement of other members who are connected to the matter.
