In a shocking case from Gurugram, a 26-year-old man allegedly killed his wife over dowry demands just four months after their love marriage, exposing a disturbing pattern of abuse behind what initially appeared to be a happy relationship.

The accused, Arun Sharma, a radiology professional, allegedly murdered his wife Kajal, a nurse, on March 18, 2026, following a dispute at their home.

Arun Sharma and Kajal first met while working at a nursing home in Gurugram. Long working hours brought them closer, and their friendship soon developed into a romantic relationship.

The couple got married in November 2025, choosing a love marriage despite potential challenges. However, within just four months, the relationship reportedly deteriorated due to repeated conflicts and alleged dowry demands.

According to police investigations, Kajal was brought dead to Civil Hospital, Sector 10, Gurugram, on March 18.

During questioning, Arun Sharma allegedly confessed to administering an injection to his wife earlier that day, which led to her death. The injection is believed to have been an anesthesia-type drug, recovered from the couple’s bathroom.

Police also suspect that the accused struggled with drug addiction, which may have further aggravated tensions between the couple.

The victim’s family has accused Arun Sharma of continuous dowry harassment and physical abuse since the marriage.

Kajal’s brother filed a complaint, stating that she had been subjected to repeated demands and mistreatment, ultimately leading to her death.

Based on the complaint, police registered a dowry murder case and launched an investigation.

The accused has been arrested and produced before a court, which remanded him to police custody for further interrogation.
