The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has issued detailed Online Portal for Joining and Registration guidelines for candidates admitted to the 2025 Diplomate of National Board diploma and post-MBBS broad specialty courses. NBEMS has set strict April 2026 deadlines for trainees and accredited hospitals to complete mandatory joining and verification formalities.
The board activated the OPJR portal on March 9, 2026. Trainees must complete their joining and self-appraisal submission by April 9, 2026. Hospitals must complete document verification and approval by April 30, 2026.
March 9, 2026: OPJR portal activated
April 9, 2026: Last date for trainee joining and self-appraisal submission
April 30, 2026: Last date for hospital verification and approval
These deadlines apply to candidates allotted seats through the Medical Counselling Committee as well as those admitted under in-service quotas including state government, Railways, Public Sector Undertakings, and Employees’ State Insurance Corporation.
NBEMS has made the OPJR process compulsory for all 2025 DNB trainees. The process includes:
The trainee must update joining details on the OPJR portal.
The hospital must upload the Joining Report in Annexure-A format.
The trainee must submit the self-appraisal form confirming eligibility and admission details.
The hospital must verify original documents and approve the registration online.
Hospitals must carefully verify original category certificates for candidates admitted under SC, ST, OBC, or EWS categories as per MCC norms. Any discrepancy, incomplete documentation, or false declaration may lead to cancellation of candidature and further action under NBEMS rules.
After successful completion of joining formalities and hospital verification, NBEMS will issue a Letter of Provisional Registration to the trainee. This provisional registration allows the candidate to begin NBEMS training but remains subject to final verification of submitted information.
NBEMS has clarified that provisional registration does not guarantee eligibility for the Final Exit Examination and does not automatically confer the diploma or degree.
For candidates admitted under state quota or in-service categories, NBEMS has emphasized that training must begin only after formal relief from the parent organization. Any training undertaken without official relief will be treated as null and void.
