Assistant Professor Accused of Sexual Harassment by 13 Female MBBS Students

So far, reportedly, 13 MBBS students have reached the police, and the case is in progress.

A distressing incident of sexual harassment of women MBBS students at Ambedkar Medical Hospital in the Rohini area of New Delhi came to light.

A major commotion has broken out as the MBBS students of the medical college have accused Assistant Professor Salim Sheikh of alleged sexual harassment. Various Hindu Sangathans and MBBS students of the college are sitting outside the college campus to protest against the assistant professor and others involved in the case.

Subhash Rathi, from Sarv Samaj Sangathan, showed disagreement and hatred towards this incident.

Despite making police complaints, no action was taken, and ultimately, the women students approached the Sarv Samaj Sangathan as per reports. As a result, heavy security has been deployed by the Delhi Police on the premises.

An FIR was registered against the said assistant professor on February 22. He was apprehended, and a charge sheet was also filed against him. Purportedly, the professor is out on bail. He is still teaching the students. However, Hindu Sangathans are demanding his removal from his position until the case is resolved.

Some of the complainants have also gone ahead and compared this distressing incident to the Sandeshkhali crisis.

The MBBS students raised slogans against the professor and furiously demanded his arrest. According to sources, amidst the practical tests on January 31, the professor allegedly tried to inappropriately touch the female students. Moreover, he also went ahead and allegedly threatened the students with irksome consequences in case they opted to speak up.

Based on complaints lodged by the students, a case has been filed against the accused under Section 154A of the CrPC. So far, reportedly, 13 MBBS students have reached the police, and the case is in progress.
