In a recent shocking case from Faridabad, an unqualified doctor allegedly performed over 50 cardiac procedures at a private cardiac care center, which has now been sealed.
What Happened
A general physician with no formal training or qualification in cardiology had been conducting cardiac procedures under the same name and license of a real Faridabad-based cardiologist. He was posing as a specialist and attending to patients for critical heart-related treatments.
How Did It Come to Light
The issue surfaced when some patients returned for follow-ups and realized that no doctor was available at the center. Others started raising concerns when they noticed no improvement in their condition despite undergoing major procedures. Eventually, several of them filed complaints through the Haryana Chief Minister’s grievance portal, leading to an official police complaint.
Concerned attendants used the registration number "28482" only to find it belonged to a real cardiologist, whose actual number was "2456" and had no ties to the center.
What Did the Company Say
The HR team of the company stated that they were unaware of the doctor's lack of qualifications. They only learned of this issue after the police complaint was filed. Now, they are planning to file a separate complaint against the doctor once they receive more information from the authorities.
How Did the Investigation Begin
The criminal investigation is now being handled by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), after the initial complaint. It's also been found that the cardiac care center had already been shut down in February after earlier red flags were raised internally.
What Now
Police are continuing their investigation along with ACB, and further legal action is likely. Haryana's Director General of Health Services, Dr. Manish Bansal, declined to comment on the case.
