In a significant crackdown, Kolhapur police arrested four individuals, including an ayurvedic doctor, for their alleged role in over 50 criminal offenses. The crimes, which primarily involved house break-ins and the illicit supply of marijuana.
A recent burglary in Ispurli led to the discovery of a notorious gang, responsible for the theft of gold jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh. The investigation revealed that 46-year-old Gurudatta Pol, a resident of Jawahar Nagar in Kolhapur city, was the mastermind behind the gang. Pol was apprehended with the stolen jewellery in his possession, which he intended to sell in Kalamba. Further questioning led to the identification of three additional accomplices involved in the burglary.
Sanjay Pol had ceased practicing medicine approximately a year ago due to substantial debt. Consequently, he joined his relative Gurudatta Pol in committing crimes. Sanjay Pol also enlisted the help of his brother Harish in the Ispurli village house break-in.
