The session started with Dr. Munmun Rai, MBBS (Medical Officer, MedBound) welcoming everybody and acknowledging their presence. Then, the session was taken over by Vanshika Bajaj, (Marketing Intern, MedBound) and M Subha Maheswari (Program Coordinator, MedBound) who introduced the MedBound List platform. Further, the session was handed over to Hafsahbanu Patel, B. Biomedical Science, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
Hafsahbanu began her session by explaining the major applications of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, along with the principle of the technology and how various diseases are diagnosed using MRI. The possible alternatives of MRI and its comparison to CT scans were also discussed. The session ended by taking any queries that the interns might have followed up by a short discussion on MRI by Dr. Munmun and then a vote of thanks was delivered by M Subha Maheswari.
