Delhi High Court orders Ramdev to remove controversial content from social media

Delhi High Court instructed Ramdev to remove claims assigning deaths of people during Covid 19 to Allopathy Doctors and promoting Coronil as a 'cure'.

Ramdev, Balkrishna and Patanjali Ayurved were given an interim order by Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani for making allegations.

A defamation suit was filed by several Resident Doctors of AIIMS; Union of Resident Doctors, Punjab; Association of Resident Doctors at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh; Resident Doctors at Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College, Meerut; etc. Suits claimed included 

- Allopathy Doctors have caused the death of many patients.

- Lakhs of people died of Covid 19 due to Allopathy.

- Allopathic doctors are advising medicine that acts as a poison.

Doctors conveyed these misrepresentations by Ramdev regarding Allopathy medicine and promotions of Coronil.

The suit by doctors stated, "The misinformation campaign regarding the alleged ill-effects and lack of efficacy of allopathy during the ongoing pandemic has the propensity to divert people from allopathic treatments prescribed as the standard form of care even by the Government of India, thereby directly violating the right to health of persons in India, which is a facet of Article 21 of the Constitution".
