Shocking: Doctors Remove 9 Iron Nails from Remand Prisoner’s Stomach

In a shocking incident, the doctors at Gandhi Hospital removed 9 Iron nails from a remand prisoner’s stomach on Saturday.

According to the sources, the prisoner is identified as 32-year-old Mohammad Shaik. Last week he was sent to Cherlapally Central Prison, Secunderabad, Telangana on judicial remand in a case. He complained of severe stomach pain four days ago. After the examination at the jail hospital, the jail authorities rushed him to Gandhi Hospital.

The doctors at the Gandhi Hospital took an X-ray and were shocked to find nine iron nails in his abdomen. The doctors also found that Mohammad was suffering severe stomach pain when the iron nails were coming in contact with his intestine and other organs. The doctors referred him to the gastroenterology department at the hospital.

The doctors successfully removed nine iron nails from the Sheik’s stomach. The procedure took 45 minutes to remove the nails. His condition is stable post-surgery. Mohammad Shaik notified the doctors that on varied instances he consumed 16 nails.

The jail authorities of Cherlapally Central Prison suspected that he consumed the nails accidentally or to end his life. However, an internal inquiry was instructed by the Prisons and Correctional Services Department into the points that led Mohammad Shaik to consume the nails and how he managed to get the nails in the high-security Cherlapally Prison.
