

IMPHAL, MANIPUR, APRIL, 2026: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Inspector who collapsed at Imphal International Airport on April 4, 2026, received immediate medical attention from a doctor present at the site, leading to timely stabilization and transfer for further care.
The incident occurred at Imphal International Airport in Manipur while the CRPF personnel was waiting to board a flight to Delhi. According to verified reports, the individual suddenly lost consciousness in the departure area, prompting an urgent response from those present.
The incident reportedly took place at around 7:40 am at the check-in area when the individual, identified as Suresh Kumar, an Inspector with the 158 Battalion, collapsed after a suspected cardiac episode.
Dr. Ph. Kiron, Commandant (Medical) of a CRPF Battalion 27 based in Delhi, was at the airport during the incident and intervened without delay. On identifying that the individual was unresponsive, he initiated primary assessment and emergency care, helping stabilize the individual during critical moments following the collapse.
Prior to the doctor’s intervention, on-duty CISF Inspector K. Bikendra responded immediately, alerted the airport medical team, and initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation after observing that the passenger was not breathing. Dr. Kiron then took over the resuscitation efforts and continued advanced care.
After initial stabilization by the CRPF doctor, the airport’s medical team and Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) unit took over further management. The patient was then shifted to a nearby hospital for detailed evaluation and monitoring.
The patient regained consciousness following resuscitation efforts and was transported to the hospital via an airport ambulance. According to the latest updates, the individual is reported to be stable.
As reported by NorthEast Now, airport operations continued as scheduled, with no significant disruption following the incident. The response remained focused on patient care while ensuring the normal functioning of airport services.
Airport staff and security personnel supported the response by managing the crowd and enabling the patient’s rapid transfer to a medical facility, maintaining coordinated emergency handling.
