Lucknow, January 13, 2026: Dr. Ramiz Malik (also known as Dr. Rameezuddin Nayak), a 31-year-old senior resident doctor at King George's Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow, who was recently arrested on January 9, 2026, on charges of sexual exploitation of a female junior doctor and forced conversion to Islam, is now said to have connections with Dr. Shaheen Saeed, who is linked to terror activities and banned organizations.
According to sources, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has sought detailed information about Dr. Malik from local police authorities.
Sources further revealed that Dr. Malik allegedly had connections with the banned Islamic outfit, Popular Front of India (PFI). While absconding, he reportedly sought legal assistance from the organization. Investigators also claim that Dr. Malik considered fugitive Islamic preacher Zakir Naik as his "ideal."
Police are now examining Dr. Malik's foreign travel history to determine whether he received any external funding.
During interrogation, Dr. Malik reportedly admitted that he met Dr. Shaheen Saeed, who was arrested last year in connection with the Delhi Red Fort blast case. Sources indicate that the two doctors first met at medical seminars and conferences, after which they maintained regular contact via phone.
Dr. Shaheen Saeed, a medical professional, was arrested for her alleged involvement with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and is believed to have played a key role in a white-collar terror network operating across Delhi and Haryana.
Dr. Saeed completed her MBBS and MD studies in Prayagraj between the late 1990s and mid-2000s. She cleared the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission examination and joined the Pharmacology Department at Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial (GSVM) Medical College in Kanpur as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Malik was initially arrested following serious allegations brought forward by a female junior doctor at KGMU. The case came to light after the complainant, a Hindu resident doctor, attempted suicide on December 17, 2025.
According to police sources, the complainant alleged that Dr. Malik had misled her about his marital status when their relationship began in mid-2025. She accused him of making repeated promises of marriage, allegedly forcing her to undergo an abortion without her consent, and subsequently pressuring her to convert to his religion.
The complaint was first lodged through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's grievance portal before an FIR was registered. Dr. Malik faces charges of rape under false promises of marriage, coercion regarding abortion, and pressure for religious conversion.
Investigators had also identified allegations from another female medical student from Agra Medical College.
