Who Was the Doctor Found Dead in Meerut?

The deceased doctor has been identified as Dr. Giri Prasad, a 29-year-old medical graduate from Tiruvannamalai district in Tamil Nadu. After completing his MBBS, he enrolled in a Doctor of Medicine (MD) postgraduate program at a private medical college in Meerut.

Dr. Prasad had relocated from Tamil Nadu to Uttar Pradesh for his postgraduate medical training. Like many medical residents studying outside their home states, he was living in rented accommodation near his institution.

Incident Discovered by Classmate in Rented Accommodation

According to reports, the incident came to light on the morning of March 4, 2026. One of Dr. Prasad’s classmates reportedly discovered him hanging in his room and immediately informed the authorities.

Police reached the location soon after receiving the information. The body was recovered and later sent for a medico-legal post-mortem examination.

Where Did the Incident Occur?

The incident occurred in Gokuldham Colony, located within the Bhavanpur police station jurisdiction in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The doctor was residing there while pursuing his postgraduate medical studies.

Meerut Police Register Case, Await Post-Mortem Report

We have informed the family members of Prasad, who are on their way to Meerut. Experts have been roped in to gather further details, including the call records of the deceased doctor's mobile phone.
