In an exciting development for future nursing professionals, the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) has announced available admissions for the BSc Nursing program for the academic year 2025. This initiative not only opens the door to a promising career in healthcare but also strengthens the institutional framework that supports the nursing workforce within the Armed Forces.

Overview of BSc Nursing Admissions

The AFMC will reserve 220 seats across six prestigious Colleges of Nursing under the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). This includes institutions such as the College of Nursing in AFMC Pune, INHS Asvini in Mumbai, and CH (EC) in Kolkata. The seats are distributed as follows:

  • AFMC Pune- 40

  • INHS Asvini, Mumbai-40

  • CH (EC) Kolkata-30

  • AH (R&R) Delhi-30

  • CH (CC) Lucknow-40

  • CH (AF) Bangalore-40

Total - 220 seats

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this esteemed program, prospective candidates must meet certain criteria, which include:

  • Gender and Marital Status: Only female candidates who are unmarried, divorced, legally separated, or widowed without any encumbrances.

  • Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.

  • Age Requirement: Candidates should be between 17 to 25 years of age as of the course commencement date.

  • Educational Background: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or an equivalent qualification in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates is based on a multi-tiered approach:

  • NEET (UG) Examination: Candidates must qualify in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test conducted by the NTA.

  • Registration and Application: After qualifying NEET, candidates can register on the Join Indian Army website, where they will need to pay an application fee of ₹200.

  • Shortlisting: A merit list will be prepared based on the NEET scores, followed by a screening process that includes document verification, a General Intelligence test, psychological assessment, and a personal interview.

  • Medical Fitness: Candidates must meet the medical fitness standards required for commissioning in the Armed Forces.
