Gurugram, January 20, 2026: A government Ayurveda doctor has been arrested for allegedly running over a Swiggy delivery agent multiple times with his SUV while in a drunken state. The incident took place in Gurugram’s Sector 93 area on the night of January 18, 2026, police confirmed.

The accused, identified as Dr. Naveen Yadav, is posted at a primary health center in Daulatabad. The victim, Tinku Panwar, a Swiggy delivery agent, has been admitted to a civil hospital in Gurugram with severe injuries, including multiple fractures in his left leg.

The incident occurred near a Swiggy warehouse in Hayatpur, Sector 93. According to police, Dr. Yadav was allegedly annoyed by the frequent presence of delivery agents crowding the street near the warehouse. Police said the accused had arguments with the delivery agents over the same issue.

CCTV footage from the scene shows a black Scorpio taking a right turn and hitting a motorcycle parked under a tree, injuring the delivery agent. The motor cycle originally belonged to the victim. When other delivery workers gathered at the spot to protest, the driver allegedly reversed the vehicle and attempted to run them over, crushing several motorcycles in the process. The Scorpio has since been seized by authorities.

Sunny Pawar (18), the victim’s son, described the incident in detail.
“The driver moved forward and ran over my father, only to reverse again. He kept reversing the car to run over my father at least four times, leaving him with severe injuries and multiple fractures in his left leg,” he told Hindustan Times.

Despite his father’s cries for help, the accused allegedly did not stop.
“My father kept screaming in pain, but the driver left the spot and entered his residence, which was hardly 200 meters away,” Sunny added.

The injured man was rushed to a private hospital in Rewari after a colleague alerted the family.
“My father’s colleague informed my mother, after which they rushed him to a private hospital in Rewari. Doctors told us he has multiple fractures in his left leg and will require surgeries,” Sunny said.

Police Response and Arrest

The incident triggered outrage among delivery workers in the area. On Monday morning, several delivery executives gathered at the Sector 93 police post, demanding immediate action against the accused and alleging police inaction. Police reported that on Sunday night, after seeing the motorcycles parked again, the accused lost his temper and rammed them.

Police later tracked down and arrested Dr. Yadav, who had fled the spot. A case of attempted murder has been registered against him.
