Mumbai, 17 September 2025 — A video showing a doctor at Matoshree Indirabai Baburao Sarnaik Cashless MBMC Hospital in Mira-Bhayander harshly yelling at a heart patient has gone viral, sparking outrage across social media. In the clip, the patient lies on a hospital bed, repeatedly pleading, “I am dying,” while asking for discharge information.
The doctor, instead of offering reassurance, orders him to leave and accuses him of trying to frighten people. Netizens have condemned the incident as unprofessional and insensitive, calling for immediate accountability from the hospital administration.
The 22-second video, captured inside the hospital ward, shows the patient clearly distressed and desperate for help. He says he already spoke to staff about discharge, but the doctor responds sharply: “I have told you to do the discharge. Then go away.” When he insists he is dying, the doctor dismisses his plea, telling him to “go down and talk to him.”
Initially the doctor tried to be very dismissive, however when the patient tried to get more information she raised her voice and spoke in a very harsh tone, as if trying to scare away the patient who was already in pain.
Public reaction has been critical. Many viewers said the doctor’s response reflected a lack of compassion for a vulnerable patient in distress. Some social media users called it the "reality check" in public hospitals in India. Others demanded that disciplinary action be taken, with calls for suspension or removal from duty.
Several users on social media asked for an urgent need for better training in patient communication and empathy, particularly in government-run hospitals.
However a few also pointed out the hectic schedules of these medical interns. The user stated "the working hours are ridiculous and it is not always easy to keep cool."
Reports claim the patient suffered an undetected stroke, was asked to purchase medicines externally, faced delays in surgery, and was allegedly asked to pay ₹70,000 — a demand later waived on the condition of silence. As of September 18, 2025, the video has triggered public outrage on social media, though no official statement or investigation update has been issued by the hospital authorities.
