Dark circles under your eyes is the thin-skinned area that turns into bluish blackish skin tone. One of the most common causes of dark circles is ageing. As you age, the skin below your eyes begins to loosen and thin out so the blood vessels under your skin may become more visible, darkening the appearance of your under eyes.

Hollowed areas called tear troughs may also develop causing shadows that increase the appearance of puffy eyes. Ever wonder why certain people complain about dark circles at a younger age?

In a recent video, Dr. Jushya Bhatia Sarin (MD Dermatologist, MRCP, UK) provides a detailed explanation, uncovering myths associated with under-eye creams and sharing the causes behind stubborn dark circles. She highlights the lifestyle issues behind the condition and shares impactful advice for curing them.

Let's be real- no under-eye cream will fix your dark circles unless you make Lifestyle changes.

What should be changed?

1. Stop using the screen in the dark

Using mobile phones once the lights are off would be deleterious for your eyes as well as under eyes skin. The high-energy blue light emitted from the screens break down collagen and elastin on the under eye area. On the other hand prolonged focusing on the screens or having high screen time could weaken the eye muscles.

Iron deficiency or low Haemoglobin is one of the major culprit for the retention of dark circles.

2. Fix the Iron Deficiency

Iron deficiency or low Haemoglobin is one of the major culprit for the retention of dark circles. The reason behind it is the inability of blood to deliver the oxygen to the skins during the iron deficiency. As a result of which overproduction of melanin is stimulated and under eye skin being the thinnest shows the prime effects.
