Dr. Chintan Desai B.D.S, M.P.H
Dr. Chintan Desai, BDS, MPH, is a Dental Public Health professional with extensive experience spanning clinical dentistry, epidemiology, and community-based oral health programs. He is currently enrolled in the Advanced Education in Dental Public Health Residency Program at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, building upon prior advanced training at the University of Pittsburgh and the Eastman Institute for Oral Health, where he contributed to NIH-funded research studies and statewide public health initiatives.
Dr. Desai earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Jackson State University, where he developed strong expertise in data analysis, program evaluation, and population-based research methodologies.
His scholarly work focuses on oral–systemic health, periodontal disease, and national database epidemiology. He has co-authored peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Cureus and the Journal of Perinatology, and his research has been presented at major national and regional conferences, including AADOCR, NOHC, and the New York State Oral Health Summit. Dr. Desai also serves as a peer reviewer for several international dental and biomedical journals.
Passionate about health equity and disease prevention, Dr. Desai has led and supported school-based dental programs, oral health education initiatives, and public health projects addressing early childhood caries and maternal–child oral health. His professional interests include evidence-based dentistry, chronic disease epidemiology, oral–systemic health, and the integration of technology and data science into public health practice.
